Jeff Krauss joined hosts Tom Egelhoff and Shane Montalban to cover a host of topics on this week’s Open for Business Show.
Hour One: Gun Control and Property Taxes might not seem to go together but those were the hot topics with callers in the first hour. Social services are the responsibility of the county and state but it seems our current commission might be moving in the social services direction. Jeff Krauss weighed in on that topic.
Hour Two: In this segment Commissioner Krauss gave stats about whose moving here, where from, and interesting information about Bozeman housing conditions. Where are we in numbers of houses being built and cost of living?
Hour Three: Shane started the hour off with Montana laws we don’t need. Jeff continued addressing the difficulty in providing affordable housing in Bozeman. The repatriation of funds back to the US under the new tax bill and what effect that will have on our economy, infrastructure and wage growth. The opioid epidemic and mental health as part of the Montana budget and the market wrap up finished out the show.

Is there an answer to gun violence? The three debate the topic. In the 2nd half hour Montana AG Tim Fox weighed in on the court decision upholding the prohibition of robocalls.
HOUR TWO: The stock market roller coaster ride. Is it over? Or is the other shoe going to drop? Will interest rates go up in the next few months? A business owner needed help with employee benefits.
HOUR THREE: Markets, tax bill, inflation, and more in the final hour as well as our market wrap up for the week.

In another segment they talked about the huge spending bill that congress passed and the vote of the continuing resolution till March 23rd.
